10:40am from the San Francisco Airport (SFO) on a direct flight to the Changi Airport in Singapore (SIN). Arrive at Changi Airport in Singapore at 7:55pm local time. Check in to our hotel for the night.
8:45am from Changi Airport (SIN) on a direct flight to the Chennai Airport (MMA) in Chennai, India. Arrive at Chennai Airport (MMA) at 10:30am.
5:40am from the Chennai Airport (MMA) on a direct flight to Changi Airport (SIN) in Singapore. Arrive at Changi Airport (SIN) at 12:35pm.
9:15am from the Changi Airport (SIN) on a direct flight to the San Francisco Airport (SFO). Arrive at the San Francisco Airport at 8:50am
11:00am: Check into our hotel
12:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm: We will travel to the Madras Crocodile Bank where we will tour the facility with an experienced herpetologist. We will see many different species of crocodiles from all around the world as well as Komodo dragons and other large monitor species.
3:00pm: We will tour the Irula Venom Co-op facility where they house India’s most deadly serpents, the Russel’s Viper, spectacled cobra, saw-scaled viper and Indian Krait. We will watch as they milk the snakes of their venom which will be used to produce life-saving anti-venom.
5:00pm: Dinner
6:00pm: Night time herping with the Irula snake catchers. Our target species will include the Indian krait, saw scaled viper, spectacled cobra, Russel’s viper, Indian rat snake, checkered keelback, vine snake, bronzeback and more. We will also search for various lizard species.
11:00pm: Back to our hotel for the night.
7:00am: Breakfast
8:00am: We will begin our day hiking with the Irula Snake Catchers in scrub farmland close to the Croc Bank. There are many diurnal herp species to look for, including Bengal monitor lizards, Indian sand boas, cobras, rat snakes and a host of other species!
12:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm: More herping with the Irula Snake Catchers. We will travel to several areas in search of new and different herp species. The Irula’s are experts that know where to find just about every species we will target.
7:00 AM: Breakfast
8:00am: We will travel about 45-minutes to Guindy National Park. Here we can see Indian blackbuck, chital deer, sambar deer, jackal and other native mammals and birds.
10:00am: We will do a guided tour with a ranger at the snake park located only a short distance from Guindy National Park.
12:00: Lunch
1:00pm: We will search for the herpetofauna in the park which is home to many different species!
5:00pm: Dinner
6:00pm: We will end the night with a night tour at the Croc Bank before heading back to the hotel for the night.
7:00am: Breakfast
8:00am: More hardcore day herping with the Irula’s!
12:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm: A bit of rest and relaxation to re-energize for the night. Perhaps a nice cup of coffee or other preferred drink and talk about our favorite experiences from our first half of the trip.
5:00pm: Night herping with the Irula’s in search of more new species!
7:00am: Breakfast
8:00am: We will travel to new areas with the Irula’s to search for new species.
12:00: Lunch
1:00pm: We head back out for more hiking and herping!
5:00pm: Dinner
6:00pm: We’ll take some downtime to relax and re-energize and prepare for the following day.
7:00am: Sightseeing and a tour of the Shore Temple. We will get to experience some of India’s culture as well as have an opportunity to look for souvenirs.
12:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm: Optional. At this point, some of our group may be tired from a long week of hiking. You will have the option of doing some final herping or you can choose to stay behind at the hotel and relax.
5:00pm: Dinner
6:00pm: Back to the hotel to prepare for our travel back to Singapore the following day.
5:40am: We will have to get up early to catch our 5:40am departing flight back to Singapore.
12:35pm: Arrive back in Singapore, go through customs and retrieve luggage and have lunch.
2:30pm: Check into our hotel and relax.

5:00pm: Dinner

6:00pm: Take a short trip on the MRT to a mangrove park where we will search into the night for herps, including the mangrove pit viper, dog-faced water snake, Cantor’s water snake, file snake and a myriad of other species!
11:00pm: Back to the hotel for the night.
7:00am: Breakfast
8:00am: We will travel to a wetlands area where we will have our best chance at finding a king cobra and an equatorial spitting cobra! Salt water crocodiles patrol the mangroves in search of prey. Several different species of tree snakes are prevalent along the paved trails and we will see monster-sized Asian water monitor lizards within a few yards of where we hike. The playful smooth-coated otters are also residence of the park. Colorful birds as well as smaller lizards are common sights as well.
12:00pm: Lunch
1:00pm: Rainforest hike! We will head back to the MRT for a short ride to the last remaining area of primary rainforest in Singapore. We will search the clouded monitor lizard, the beautiful Wagler’s pit viper, green vine snake, twin-bar flying tree snake, painted bronzeback, spitting cobra, paradise tree snake and many more. We will see long-tailed macaque monkeys the odd-looking colugo and many different species of frogs.
5:00pm: Dinner
6:00pm: Back to the hotel to prepare for the long flight back to San Francisco.
9:15am: We will get up early in the morning and head back to the Changi Airport to board our 9:15am flight back to San Francisco.
8:50am: Arrive back in San Francisco!
